Cage bearings that allow more balls to be placed around the knife pivot than standard cage bearings. Which provides more support for the blade and decreasing stress on each ball. The ceramic balls are captured in the disc but are still free floating to prevent binding.

Includes Grade 5 ceramic bearings pre-installed.

    • Improved ball pathing around pivot

Additional Installation and Maintenance Info from Skiff Workshop:

The amount of torque needed for each knife's pivot when installing these bearings  is entirely by feel. You should start off lightly and test the blade, then tighten a little more, retest the blade. Repeat that until you are happy with the action. If you are using the 8mm x 1/16" bearings then you would need less torque when tightening the pivot since there are more balls to spread the load.

For cleaning, you can use some light ammonia free de-greaser. Simple Green or even Windex should be fine. If you use a de-greaser then you should apply a drop of oil to each cage when installing. You can use compressed air to clean out the bearings. If the compressed air is too strong you may need to push some of the balls back to center if they become stuck on one side.
